Matt’s major in the business college was Supply Chain Management which at the time of his graduation was ranked number 1 in the country and is still viewed by many as the leader in the industry.
While in College Matt interned for Cequent Towing and Trailer products in Plymouth, Michigan. At that time the company had just purchased five of its competitors. Matt worked on a team that was involved in integrating these five companies into Cequent Towing and Trailer Products. The following summer Matt was hired to work at Delphi in Warren, Ohio at the Packard plant. As a direct result of Matt’s work in Ohio over the summer, Delphi World Headquarters extended him a job offer upon graduating from the business school. Matt worked for 2 more years at Delphi World Headquarters in such areas as Value Analysis Value Engineering, Purchasing, Global Supply Chain Management and Indirect Purchasing.
While Matt was in Law School he also worked as a legal intern at his father’s law firm. Matt has worked a combined five years as a legal intern and than ultimately an attorney upon passing the Michigan Bar Exam. Matt also had an opportunity to work as a law student for Judge Nancy Carniak in the 52-3 district court for a summer.
In addition, Matt has been certified by the State Bar of Michigan as a Mediator. Matt has served as mediator at Macomb County Mediation Center, Wayne County Mediation Center and 36th District Court in Detroit. Matt has a strong interest in business litigations, employment litigation, personal injury, collections and criminal law.
Outside the practice of Law, Matt coached boy’s basketball for seven years in the AAU travel basketball circuits. In addition, Matt has been the head coach for freshman high school boy’s basketball. He also has been certified as a professional food safety manager as a requirement by the health department with his previous experience of owning his own restaurant.
